Der Weg durch die Pöllatschlucht führt zur Marienbrücke und zu Schloss Neuschwanstein. Der circa 10 km lange Wildbach Pöllat fließt durch die Pöllatschlucht unterhalb des Schlosses Neuschwanstein. Die Schlucht wird von der Marienbrücke überspannt, welche als Aussichtspunkt, um das Schloss zu sehen, besonders beliebt ist.

Ein schöner Rundweg führt von den Parkplätzen der Königsschlösser linker Hand durch den Pöllatweg in Richtung der Tegelberg-Talstation zur alten Gips-Mühle, wo man direkt am Eingang der Pöllatschlucht landet. Über Eisenstege geht es nun vorbei am Wasser bis zum Aussichtspunkt am Wasserfall unter der Marienbrücke.
